30HP Kohler Command Pro on Super Z

Again the only other issue with my 2008 Hustler Super z. I have the 30HP Kohler Command Pro engine and sometimes when I start it and am not at full throttle it sounds funny as if it were only running on 1 cylinder or half the power but it isn't missing, just sounds weak then I can rev it up and down and it's like the governor or carb opens up and then it levels out and has full power? Anyone else had this problem?
THANKS

You could be running on one cylinder at that time for 50 different reason. The engine is designed to run wot. Let her rip and run like she was made to do. I would check the idle ports in the carb. If the low end jets are dirty it will run funny. A little sea foam wouldn't hurt.

it is more like a governor issue, like its not opening all the way up, because even at WOT sometimes it will not level out and I have to reve it back and forth and after about 5-10 revs it will level out and be running smoothly. I do like the seafoam idea though.

Coils. Check your spec # against Kohler service bulletin 300. You should be able to update your engine using kit # 24 755 173 for 30 HP. Gives you coils and wiring harness. Early 2008 blocks with the SAM module (black box on cover) do not have the correct flywheel and you will have to replace these with the coils that end in -36. Most 2008's are built without the SAM box and able to be updated. Have your dealer look up the Service Bulletin I listed if not familiar with it.
