exmark 26 efi ecu question

I'm having a strange issue with my lazer, it cuts out quite a bit and as of lately, runs on one cylinder only. I've swapped the coils and the problem still affects the same cylinder, checked all the grounds, compression checks good 160/165. I played with the ecu harness at the ecu and it cleared up a little but went back to acting up when I let go. Looks like the harness update was done, only taped at the end and the plastic ecu instead of the metal one. I did notice a little corrosion on the pins and connector but no sloshing. Ecu date says 2001 so I assume it's original. The mower is a 2002. The serial number on my engine is rubbed off from the debris flap rubbing against it so I assume this is the original ecu. Also, no fire on the cylinder but the connections look good, ground and V+ on both, ohm out around 2.5 - 2.6 ohms. Fried ecu or bad harness? Fuses are good also...

If you can get it to change the way it runs by playing with the wires then that's where I'd look first. Take the plugs apart and clean them up and add some dielectric grease before reassembly.
