need help

This is a job we started i have the structural part down I just can't figure out how to make it look right. What have I done wrong on this border, and how should I change it to look right? I did the front walk one way and the other two a different way, but to my nether looks right. I haven't put poly sand in yet so not a big deal to go back and fix it just not really sure how to fix it.

Man, that looks like a really shitty site for pavers, so many enclosed areas.

Im no expert by any means, usually I've seen the soldier running the other way. Also there are a few odd cuts, like the corner one that looks like you cut an 2 different blocks and angled them together?

We have never done a border course end to end. We always do a Soldier course with the pavers side by side.

It looks like some or all of you cut pieces are facing inside with the cut. We always the cut to be on the outside next to the border course.

Also I wouldn't miter the corners with those small pieces, instead use full pavers on each side and cut one or two in the middle of the run so that way the corners wouldn't look funny.

Lay the herring bone on a 45 angle. And it would look much better

You have a sailor course, (laid end on end) soilder is side by side.

A contrasting color on the border would help

The customer wanted a 90 heringbone not a 45 so no choice in that. I choose the sailer instead of a soilder because of the size walk he wanted. If i did a soilder the center heringbone pattern would have been really small and looked worse. What i am not really liking is my corners where we mitered them. I didnt do that on the sidewalk in the front, but i dont really like how it turned out etheir. I think it will look equally as bad if i cut a few in the middle.I dunno

Sailor is fine but I wouldn't miter the corners. Also why not make the last one big enough that its a full brick in the field instead of a slice?
