Opinions of the 'Magic Hose'

This past spring, I hadn't seen the infomercial for the magic hose, but saw it at a novelty shop (which had it even before walmart did). I got one, tried it and really liked it. Recently I got a second one and will soon be getting one or two more. I wanted to know if anyone else had tried one and had any opinions. So far mine have held up very well and I was curious to see if that was just my own personal luck

Consumer Reports (June 2013, page 48) evaluated Pocket Hose, FlexAbleHose and DAP XHose. They are pretty much all well rated. CR has a preference for Pocket Hose. They seem quite sturdy and durable based on their tests. None burst until water pressure reached 200 psi. Can't be repaired like regular garden hose. Small nicks they made created weak spots. The hoses held together until cuts reached 1 inch in length.

Hmmmm, didn't know that CR had done a report on it. I didn't even know about the FlexAbleHose and Dap XHose. I will look at those later. Thanks for the info. Have you used them personally @Pierre2013 ?

Sorry, never used them myself. Btw, it is on page 45, not 48.

I have one customer that has one and likes it. It would be handy to keep one on the truck

I've used one at a customers house to water plants for her. I liked it. I think it would be good have to in the truck as a just in case thing or to water new installs if no irrigation or hoses are available.
