Stihl 029 Super

I wasn't sure if I would get more replies in this section opposed to the Mechanic section.

I recently replaced the oiler and worm gear on a Stihl 029 Super, and put a new Oregon bar and chain on. I have the oiler set to the max setting and when running saw over newspaper it is flinging plenty of oil and I can see good lubrication on chain. The saw has a tick mark from the factory as a recommended setting but wanted to see if others ran their saws with the oiler closer to wide open?
