I think it's their way of saving money on materials and loader welding times on these machines. Now I'm glad we got one of the last "good" models, these C series loader arms are really sexy looking.

The loader arms look a bit small, but I like the look of the inside of the cab. Heated air ride high back seat, seems like I am in my car. They look like they also redesigned the 299 also.

Edit: wow... looks like even the 299D and 299D XHP get the new style loader arms. They might be technically better but they just don't look as refined. Function over form, hopefully.

Well my first reaction was WTF?

I also said the same thing when I saw Bobcat's M-series,But now I like them a lot.

I think the 289 looks stupid with those new arms.I imagine the visibility is good though.I was hoping for a good looking 279 but I'm not sure that happened either.I will say that that 259 is a good looking CTL.That might look good behind my pickup .Time will tell and I'm sure they will grow on me just like the M-series did,And again,that 259 is a gooood looking CTL.

My friend at the local CAT dealer attended training at the beginning of the Summer and saw a 259 with forks lift a 4200lb block up onto a simulated truck bed without any problems. The 259 has a 2950lb ROC at 50% of tip.

He said they had a Deere there that didn't even have the reach at truck bed height to get the forks under the block. I'd like to get a video of that.

Thats impressive.This is what I like,Big performance from a smaller machine.I dont want to have to buy a big ol 299 just to get stuff done.If I can get a smaller CTL that can go/fit more places im very happy to go that route.Ill be looking to demo one of these 259's.Thanks again for the info!
