I thought it was nutsedge at first--but no--as nutsedge has triangular stems. Can you give us more details? any sign of rhizomes or stolens? Any signs of seed heads? Collar shape? Auricles? Hairs on sheath? Ligule shape? Vernation?

Is there any chance this was over seeded with a mixture containing annual rye? Tall fescue?

I will pull one today,
grassy weeds always baffle me,
This is an ongoing problem with new customers, 3 of them, same weed
about a mile apart.
Started shooting up a month ago, picture was 3 days after mowing

Three new customers? Appeared about a month ago? Crabgrass is not out of the question. Did you compare it to a known crabgrass infestation?

Check out the "look alikes".
Quackgrass for instance is a perennial, not an annual...it has rhizomes. Check that.

Sometimes cheap seed mixtures have annual rye or foreign grasses--avoid "contractors mix".

Yes it has Rhizomes,
I originally thought it was crab but it laughed at Q4 and Solitaire.
4 to 5 days after mowing leaves develop a "wavy" look.

Dig up a section, shade the soil off of it, post some very close up. It's hard to see those small things that identify a plant.
