I tow with a 5.4 1/2 ton 2v (02, PI heads) and it does the job a lot better then 5.3s. A lot. Even when the Gm is set up compairable.

The GM might ride a little better which contributes too the whole "I forgot I had a trailer back there thing" That a lot of GM owners like too tell.
BS my 5.3's run circles around the 5.4 in the expedition. The 4.6 was even worse. My avalanche is big and heavy and tows my race car much better than the expedition does. We have owned a bunch of ford trucks and the expedition will be the last. Btw we have had trans problems under warranty right along with a friend of ours so the Ford trans is not all that great either.

Lol. Ok. I like that response. On my 02 Z71 Avy I have had the short block replaced, the tranny rebuilt and both front wheel bearings done. Oh, and a $370 fuel pump.

The block was at 119k. Bad heads from the factory. Was cheaper too get a new (used) motor.

But it wont tow with its 373 gears. I mean it rides awesome even with a trailer but you have too stand on it too move.

Like I said, I'm not arguing over what's better. Or more so whos opinion is better.

Just stating facts.

And yeah, I will agree that changing the plugs on a 2v will take a little time and that you cant see them with the COPs in place.

And just too throw some random stuff out there. I have a 91 Camaro with 272k on the factory 305, th700 and 10 bolt that have never been touched. My uncle had a base model 90 chevy that went 500k on the factory 4.3 while plowing snow (2 sets of head gaskets in that time) and currently has a 88 3/4ton 4x2 with the same motor at 250k, on what I assume is the factory th700.

But thanks for setting me straight and all.

My cousins 4.6 F-150 Blew a spark plug straight out of the head of the motor. It took the threads of the head with it. He threw JB-Weld on it and drove it for another 6 months before it blew out again He had to get it heli-coiled
I'm not a ford guy, nobody in my family ever was but if I found the right 7.3 powerstroke diesel... I'd probably change my mind.

I'd go Chevrolet if your going gas, Dodge (CUMMINS ) if your going Diesel
