KW, leave the poor buggers alone! I grew up in Malone, nothing for venomous snakes up there that will bite you.

But crap, here in the Carolina's we've got water mocassins, rattlers, and other venomous varieties that I forget. No interest in finding out, either, but I do recognize the non-venomous ones. I have only encountered one black snake while mowing, and that was in grass that had grown to well over knee high. My poor 21 was crying.

I saw a little toad today - maybe an inch long.

I went to the truck, got a shotgun, and blasted it to smithereens!

The only good reptile is a dead reptile.

Hey, I could'a got warts!

(no, I didn't kill it, but I did take a photo)

I caught a snake once. Perfect...my lucky day. Wearing my rubber spraying gloves, I tried to stuff it down the hole where a mole was hiding. Biological control, right? Ahhh NO! Snake refused to cooperate.

I have probably caught 30 snakes just this year. They are cool creatures. These 2 rascals are king snakes and they eat venomous snakes. They are unbelievably friendly. I picked these guys up about 2 minutes before putting them around my neck.

In GA it is illegal to kill non-poisonous snakes, of course who would enforce it.
I saw this guy next to my car where my kids get out. It's time for him/her to go. The bite is supposed to be quite painful.

All you southern snake guys.....yuck, I am glad I live up north.
And I also run down baby rabbits without remorse whatsoever. Dirty pests.
