Finding employees

Curious where you guys look for employees. I have or will try the following.....

Craigslist
Employment securities commission
Ask foreman of local landscaping company we share referrals with.

I would love to find guys with experience but have the hardest time. Welcome to the world of employees I guess!!

I had a guy helping me at the end of last winter...found him on craigslist. He was great, hard worker, dependable and didn't complain.

Come spring he wanted full time, more than I was willing to pay so he worked elsewhere. Then I went to craigslist again, and went through 3 people within about 4 weeks. I called back my guy from the winter and gave him what he asked for in pay.

Basically I'm saying craiglist can work, but once you do find someone pay them well and keep them happy. Your employees/people will make your business stronger.

We are really hurting right now for good employees

My company is at a dead stand still. We have all the work we can get done in a 6 day week....without new help that is worth a crap we are just in a holding pattern.

I've tried craigslist. It's ok....but not bringing me anything worth keeping.
