Gravely Question

Hello All:

Looking to pick up a used 60" (or larger) for my bigger accounts. I have some properties that are 2-5 acres and want to get them done fast. I have found several candidates, and narrowed it down to-

1) Gravely 260Z 60" (not sure year), Koehler 25hp and electric lift. Cheapest but has highest hours on it (3200).

2) 2002 Dixie Chopper 72". Serviced and new pulleys/bearings. 26hp engine. Most expensive, but largest. Not sure of hours (meter broken).

3) 2006 Cub Cadet 60", 23hp. Middle of the pack on price. No idea hours.

Thoughts from the experts here are appreciated. Thanks!

Gravely Question

I would go with the Dixie. If money is an issue go with te gravely. Never go cub cadet unless its a Tank. That model looks like something tht you would buy at Home Depot. Never will last in commercial.

I would do a compression check on each motor. You said Gravely had highest hours, but you really don't know that since you have no idea about the hours on the Dixie or Cub.

Agree with Cecchio on the Cub. Looks like the cheap deck that came on z-force residential mowers. Not worth having, if it is. Had bad idler pulley issues, only cut decent in perfect conditions, and spindles never lasted long.
