Slow down guys...youre getting me confused...
First off...the oil sender has nothing to do with starting or shutting down the engine..
Second...you need a voltmeter to check battery volttage....the ohm scale is not used to check voltage..
Most Lazer Zs have a frame mounted starter solenoid..as well as a solenoid mounted on the starter..
When the frame mounted solenoid is energized or jumped across..the starter shift solenoid as well as the starter energizes...they are wired together..

Using a test light or voltmeter..
Check for positive voltage on one of the small wires on the frame solenoid ..when the key is turned to start..
If you dont get power to either small wire...bad fuse..bad relay..bad ignition switch..
If you get power there..and the solenoid doesnt click...install a jumperwire to ground on the other small wire on the frame solenoid..
If it starts..problem is a safety switch...
If the frame solenoid clicks..and the starter doesnt engage..check for 12v pos at the starter when the frame solenoid click..
Just because a solenoid clicks..doesnt mean it is working...gotta check the voltage being transferred..

^ Thanks for the good info. I posted a new topic about the oil switch. I assume now that it does not affect this issue.

MowZ....
2 fuse holders under the seat..
Low on oil .???? Did the engine lock up.???
Put a wrench on the end of the crankshaft and see if you can turn the engine..

Can not find a frame solenoid . Just the one on the starter. I do have power at the starter solenoid. How much I do not know. All i used was a test light on the solenoid terminal when the ignition key was on.

Nothing, it just goes directly to the starter solenoid.

In that case...
Charge or Jump the battery and try it again...

If the battery is good....really need a voltmeter to know for sure...
Try this...jump a wire from the positive battery cable to the solenoid terminal on the starter..
It should engage the starter...if not...prolly a bad starter...

How do you tell which relay? Parts diagram doesn't distinguish between the two.
