is there any freaking pre-m that will NOT make pod-annua come up?????

Ive done searches on here and have done my homework but it seems theres no pre-m out there that will keep poa down. I know after it comes up you can hit it with simazine but is there a way for it not to come up? pendi prodiamine dimension? seems everyone uses these and they have break through. Does anyone have a remedy to keep the bermuda lawns clean all the way through winter? Also, if you do have a break through will simazine at the high rate keep it away for the rest of winter and spring?

I've had the best luck with prodiamine, split application late September and Late February.

Any breakthrough, Celcius will transition it out quickly.

I have great results with simazine or atrazine as a pre applied in the fall. Some guys will use barricade but I save that for spring.

Improving drainage in wet spots will help or trying to thicken up the turf.

My JDL guy keeps talking about spectacle but he recommends a split app instead of one full app. He mentioned possible slowing of greenup in the spring with the full app. He said a few of the big companies around here have switched this year.

This past year, I did prodiamine in Sept, then a dormant app (bermuda) of gly in January. Took care of most of it. Then spot treated celcius in April on the remainder.

Celcius isn't that expensive. It's only about $0.72 per K at medium rate. Sure it's more expensive than other products but it's still not that bad considering all of the positives it provides.

I do split applications of Dimension .10% and I get an occasional Poa issue but nothing too bad. That being said I don't think Dimension will prevent Poa Annua IMO.
