Toro commercial 21

I purchased two Toro commercial 21" In the spring. Prior to this we have used Toro heavy duty 21" for 10 years. They have been great just heavy and causes rutting issues where it's not possible to change directions. The commercial 21" are constantly broke down. We cannot keep the self propelled working. The design has major flaws. Now we are stuck with 2 $1000 pieces of junk!

That sucks. I debated the 22156 but just couldn't do it and went with what I knew. I ended up getting a HD 22197 for $1038 plus tax. That had to order it. I couldn't find a single dealer that stocked it.

I was looking into getting a Toro commercial 21" for some steep slopes that I now weed eat and my currently Toro 22" personal pace isn't very reliable with the briggs engine.

The dealer I went to and looked at them even told me that they haven't had the best of luck with them lately and to look at the Honda HRC's which I have heard nothing but good things about or even look at Exmark's 21's.

You might want to look at the new Ex Mark Commercial 30" due out soon. The pics I have seen looks like it has a hydro drive like Honda and a Kaw engine. Just a thought.

I was looking for a lighter commercial mower. The Hondas and toros hd are both heavy. I didn't do enough research on the mower it has a residential grade Honda motor. I am interested in the new 30" mower.

OP's talking about previously having the "heavy duty" 22195,7 commercials. Then replacing with 22156 "commercial" that has the consumer grade deck despite pro features eg steel wheels , gsv190 engine vs. The 1/4" heavy duty deck. He was happier with the hd despite rutting.

I'd have one myself if they weren't so damn SHORT.
