Name Change?

I can't decide if I want to change the name of my company or leave it. Have any of you changed the name of your company? How did you go about doing it? I don't know how I like Green Blade; looking for something more professional & "luxurious" so to speak. Local companies have names such as Rustic Ridge, Green Acres, etc.. I like those kind of names. Not saying I don't like the name of my company; I just wonder what other people think when they hear "Green Blade Lawn Care"?

There are two main things to consider when changing your name. First, do you dislike your current name? If you absolutely don’t like it or you think it gives your competition an advantage, nothing else matters. Change it.

Second, if you like your name but think it could be better; the size of your business and how much you have invested in brand building are very important factors to consider. The larger your business the harder it will be for you to change your name. Be careful if you get a lot of business from your current website or if you often hear, “I see your trucks everywhere.” A name change will make it harder for people who are familiar with your brand to find you and become new customers. On the other hand, if you do most of the work yourself and only run one truck; now may be a great time to change your name.

Personally, I think you have a good name and a good website. If you keep it, you can continue building on the idea that having a “green blade” is important. If you go that route, you might want to consider eliminating the “cut” sections of the blades in your logo to make them look more healthy. The services page on your website is already doing a good job of teaching the importance of a healthy lawn. If you want to push those services as a major part of your business then your name is great.

Wow thanks. I guess I'm just too critical on myself. I just didn't know what other people thought when they hear my name. Like, what comes to mind.

I agree with Lawson. Depending how far you are invested in to your Brand will depend on the extent of the changing process. The name is fine. Have you registered your name with the counties you serve? Is there any competition with that similar name or have you searched the web to see if there is any other GreenBlade companies?

It's my first year heavily advertising with it & the new logo. The only name that is remotely close is Green Acres. If you search "lawn care Johnson City TN" my website is one of the first ones, so I'm keeping it
