Toro shuts off ...

Not sure if this is the place to ask this, but..... I have a Toro ss5000, Home-depot. recently the engine shuts down when trying to engage the blades from a neutral position, and when attempting to drive. any suggestions? I am thinking safety switch on drive arms or the parking brake is not disengaging. Thank you in advance.
