Calling All Green Thumbs....

I got a serious Nutsedge problem in my yard. Seems like the stuff came out of nowhere this year because I did not have any last year. Anyway....is there any chemical out there that will kill this? Should I use Round-Up in those areas to kill it? I've also read that I might need to pull out each individual weed and this would take days. Any help is much appreciated.

If you pull out each weed it will just grow back as pulling it activates dormant tubors already in the ground. It would work much better if u kill it with chemicals

Thanks for the reply. Is Round-Up sufficient? I'm not worried about killing the other grass around it as this point. I just want the Nutsedge out of there

Roundup is not particularly effective, but it will kill your good grass. Drop by a garden store "Sedgehammer" is the best product for this. I think, it is available at garden stores. Better yet at a professional lawn spray company, as a professional application.

Halosulfuron.
Dismiss (sulfentrazone) is also good.

Nutsedge disappears at temps under about 80.
