How much to pay a helper

Hello everyone, I have a decent sized lawn route in Riverside California, about 20 lawns a week all done on Saturday. Since I can't do all these lawns in one day by myself I hired my cousin to help me out. It takes us about 10 hours to do all 20 lawns and I pay him about 125$ for the day. This comes out to 6.25 a lawn or 12/hr. He mainly pushes the lawn mower, trims the hedges occasionally, and blows off the property if I can't get to it before he finishes mowing. Does this seem like a fair amount to pay someone for this kind of work? These are all Residential properties except for one small office building. Thanks for your feedback.

Yeah that's fair. I work for my cousin when I'm slow and he pays me 15. But there's a big difference between dime a dozen trim push mowing guy than a pro that does it everyday. The little things are what cuts time.

I believe it really depends on your region and going hourly pay.
Here in the northeast $12.00 is start pay for someone who is a total newbie.

I would guess that to be a bit low for Riverside but here in Tulsa it would be just fine. I am not sure what the cost of living is there but I am betting that it is a fair bit higher than here.

As long as he's happy with it, I'd say you're good. It's good side money for him, no?
