New Grass Seed...When Can I Walk On It?

Hey folks,

I planted grass seed on a new lawn on Aug 4th. It was a mix and it seems most of the rye grass has come in with the fescue starting and I'm sure the bluegrass is around the corner. My question is, the wife wants to have a party of September 29th with about 30 people and wants to utilize the lawn. Is this too early or is that a fine time?

Thanks

Should be plenty of time. Keep it watered. Push with fertilizer every couple weeks. Mow at least twice a week as soon as any grass will be cut, which sounds like now.

Be sure to let it dry between waterings and never mow wet grass or on wet soil...

Now that I know that clay's texture(platelets) has nothing to do with water infiltration, percolation, or drainage
,,, I wonder what does...
