Kubota makes a great small tractor . We have owned several and looked at the M135 last night .You may want to look on www.tractorbynet.com . There is a ton of info there to read .

To easily lift a ton you're going to need a pretty good sized tractor. I'd be looking in the 45HP+ range. I personally prefer Kubota or Case/IH. For the Price Mahindra is probably going to be the cheapest, and they aren't bad either. The thing about a tractor is it's going to have a LOT larger working footprint than a skidsteer.

There was a dealer in Dallas, but they never took off. I saw a couple at a trade show a few years back.

The big union car makers won't allow anything new to be brought in

I have a JD 1023 . Don't even consider it. Great homeowner tractor and glad I bought it but would never do what you are looking to do with it.

A local Bobcat dealer just started selling mahrinda Tractors, going go check one out tmr, looked that there website they look pretty decent, and prices are good for the bigger motels. I swear with some the USA big name machines your just paying for the paint some times. I had a Deere 2305 for my house few yrs ago, it was two years old, had it for few months, hydro tranny went out.. $3500 latter I got it fixed.. was not impressed.
