JD X304 or X320 Residential Thoughts

I am in the market to get a softly used JD lawn tractor. I have a few options and wanted some opinions. I am mowing about 1.5 acres and have a few trees/obstacles. Possibly mowing neighbors yard as well but similar terrain.

A couple of local mowers up for sale are:

2014 JD X304 - 12 hrs w/ 42" deck for $2,750
2011 JD X320 - 110 hrs w/ 48" deck for $2,500
2007 JD X320 - 175 hrs w/ 48" deck and bagger system for $3,250

I was thinking the 2011 X320 would be the best bang for the buck but wanted to get some experienced opinions!!

Here is part of the backyard so you can see what I am dealing with. Fairly flat with little to no hilly areas and few obstacles.

Hello Fond du Lac!

How long do you want the lower to last? Reason I ask is that I don't think the hydro's on the X300 series are maintainable...that is where you can drain the hydro fluid and refill it. Change the filter as well. I know for sure on the X500's you can do this as I am considering a new X534 purchase. To me, any tractor that has sealed hydro's is a "throwaway" tractor. But...that is my opinion.

I would get the biggest deck you can possibly afford. I mow 2.5 acres and even a 52" (on a tractor) isn't big enough for me. In the options you presented the 48" would be the only way to go.

Hope this helped....

I would love an X5** series, but the budget says otherwise.

I am also contemplating a brand new X300 which is typically <$3000
