I found them for around $225/piece.

What would cause them to do that at. 1100hrs?

Ok here is my opinion on this and I am sure that someone is going to have a dis agreement with me but here goes. Lots of people on here can bash bobcat, case, cat, nh and say that they have heard that they have lots of problems etc. Look at how many units these companies produce every year or have produced in the past 5 years compared to say mustang. Of course you are going to here that there is more problems with these units when they make 100 times more units per year(guess)

When I buy a machine it is an investment. And at the end of that investments time with me, the resale should still be good. In 5 years from now what will that mustang be worth? What would a comparative bobcat, cat, case machine be worth. What about the price of parts? How long does it take to get those parts in?

Also if you plan on being in the machine for long periods at a time, spend the extra money get a enclosed cab with the luxurys.belive me when it is 110 degrees out and you are sitting in your nice air conditioned cab and your competition in the open cab machine have packed it in at 11am it makes sense. Having the nicer machines also makes it easier to retain good employees.

Let the disagreements begin but a machine is an investment, and if you are going to invest 16k in a machine that is going to need work right away, and 2 years down the road when you realize you don't like it and no dealer will give you more then 8000 for it. That extra few grand you should of spent right away makes sense.

have lifted 3k lbs with this machine, for such a small and compact size it packs a huge punch and does everything we need. for 16k, i would try and haggle him down the amount it would cost to replace the sprockets, with a trained mechanic installing them. Those sprockets will last a few more hours, but it would be good to change them. The only possible explanation would be aftermarket, or a bad set of tracks that tore up the sprocket.

imo if you got a good dealer, it would be worth it to buy that machine, and you wont regret it.

That machine has been abused. It is too much of a risk for me when I can buy a good machine with cab and air for 30k or less and I agree somewhat with resale value being important. Parts will be a non issue on machine as Takeuchi dist is based in Atlanta.

No picture but worth every penny more too have a cab and air.

I talked with a local contractor today, he has a 2001 MTL16 w/ 5000hrs on it. He said in that time only thing he has changed was one set of sprockets and its on its 3rd set of tracks.
