Crossing the line?

Reluctantly picked up a large bi weekly junk lawn. Mowed it once, immediately sent him a bill through email as it was the end of the month. I told him its considered late after 10 days. Two weeks go by, no check. And in two hours I miss three phone calls, two texts, and two emails from this guy irate that I didn't mow his lawn yet. It was two weeks to the day. I text him back, why haven't you sent the check yet? And he flips out. Says he's getting another service if I don't mow it tomorrow. I was his second service of the season. Let him go or mow it?

I had faced this issue many years ago and as a result I started charging all my customers a month in advance since, now is twenty years later with no problem. I especially do this with rentals or vacationers. As the oriental say, no ticket no laundry.

Says hell mail a check, because he's away on business. I hate big lawns because of stuff like this. It's way too easy to get away with not paying your lawn service bills.

Tell him to pay what he already owes and then service will continue . people like that I make pay the day of the service when its completed. If he don't pay chalk it up and send him a nice email

I'm mostly pissed that he kept calling texting and emailing me over and over til I got back to my truck and responded. I return all customer contact promptly. I have 22 other customers that don't act psychotic, I'm just thinking even getting what he owes me isn't worth this bs.

Try to get paid for what you have done and then move on. This one's a loser, I can smell it from here. Been there done that.
