Kohler 23 HP Motor

Just spoke with a landscaper I have not seen in a while. He bought a 48" Walker with the 23HP Kohler carb. motor. Motor started bogging down, sputtering, running rich.Took it back to the dealer who changed oil and filter and said its good to go.Gas was in crankcase.

Motor started doing the same thing,so it goes back to dealer. Friend argued with Walker,Kohler and dealer. He wanted a new motor and all was saying no.After a month of going back and forth,Kohler gave him a new motor.Shame on Kohler for taking a month to step up and do the right thing.

Anyway,is anyone else seeing problems with the 23's or other Kohler motors?

Shame on Kohler ???

What they did is stepped up and covered the hack job the "dealer" did to satisfy the customer, It happens often......

Had this hack "dealer" been smart enough the first time and solved the fuel in oil issue by cleaning/replacing the carb float needle valve, And checking the fuel tank for trash (normally not covered under warranty) there wouldn't have been any other issues......

As it is...... Kohler lost out due to "dealer" stupidity......

No problems with my Kohler 23. Just shy of 700 hours and runs perfect.

That's because it's an engine and not a motor, that could explain why he was having problems with it.
Treat an engine like an engine and a motor like a motor, all motors are engines but not all engines are motors.
