couple Peerless trans questions -parts?

I think for most part this trans I took off a parts Scag48 is ok. It shifted solid with minimal play in lever. I want to put this on my other scag as that one has ton's of shifter slop. But as would be my luck.. bottom pulley was messed up and took hours to get off. I ended up splitting the case in half and taking the whole shaft out to get it off. I think as long as I got it apart- what should I replace and where to get the stuff? Thinking the 4 brass bushings and all the rubber washers. Bearings look good. Is J-thomas the place to go? I saw some negative post before on their time frame in sending? Since Tecumseh is gone- where do I get 'Bentonite' grease and how much goes in?- Thanks a million guys.

I got bentonite at a local independent. I would ship you my left over if t was cost efficient. 32oz cost me $22, but only calls for 12oz

I used rtv to seal the case but it ended up being a waste by he time I got it back together. My tranny was a 700 series on a gravely 50 wb

Good luck!

Personally I don't think they're worth rebuilding, then again your luck may differ from my own but it has mostly to do with the cost of the parts... I found I was up to $50 and $80 in parts quick, then 2 hours of labor into it and I couldn't say for sure whether I did everything right, could just be beginner's luck (or lack thereof) but after it was all said and done I can get a new one from Russo Power for just under $200 and I'm done.
