The link to the engine so stated is a water cooled vertical

yours is a air cooled engine. depends on if you have clearance and if your shaft size is 1-1/8"x4-5/16"

Ahhh...... Doesn't the blown engine have to come off anyway ?

Just remove the clutch and any pulleys off the crank and measure......

Crank on Original FH680V-DS20 engine per Kawasaki is:
1 1/8 x 100mm (100mm = 3.937")

Thank you Jeff for finding out I appreciate that

So I called some dealers they want $3100 for the same engine not install that just seems way too expensive for 23 Kawasaki would it work if I bought the same with of the shaft but a longer shaft what would I have to make it work

No problem for the info...
I think you need to keep checking with other dealers on pricing!!!
For $3100 it had better come chromed, installed, with a lifetime supply of beer and some K-Y Jelly!

Like stated, if you got another engine that had a longer crank, you would just have to shim the difference.

You might call Hustler and see what other specs were/are used on your specific model mower? Might find a 26 or a 29 that may work instead and be one hell of a lot cheaper!
