They don't have to stink anymore. I used a portable toilet in Florida, and it smelled like roses! Not like rose scented crap, but exactly like roses. It made me want to take a deep breath, but then I caught myself with WTF are you thinking! It's a toilet!

Here in Carolina I see two Porta-Johns on a trailer with a wash station in between in the farm fields for the workers. Sound s better than going at the end of the row.

Funniest home-made contraption I've seen is a guy who dug a hole in his basement to install a shooting range. He had a kegorator and urinal too.
