tall fescue cultivar

Going to oversees this week in east Tn. The tall fescue seed I have contains the cultivars sunset gold, falcon iv, and renovate all in the 30 percent range. I have not heard of the cultivar sunset gold before does anyone have any info on sunset gold. The seed is from Mexico so I assume it is a quality seed but would like information.

Not sure about the sunset gold but the falcon IV is/was a good cultivar but I think it is a little old. Right now the best TTTF cultivars for our area are Bullseye and Faith.

We are in the process of a full lawn resto right now and used these two and Firecracker for it's spreading ability. Do a google search for Hogans seed TN. They are in middle TN and carry many of the top TTTF cultivars as rated by http://ntep.org

SUNSET GOLD TALL FESCUE
SUNSET GOLD Turf Type Tall Fescue is an improved turf type tall fescue with elite turf characteristics and superior dark color. With added drought and brown patch resistance, SUNSET GOLD can be used for full to partial shade turf, without irrigation and under limited input management

Also check NTEP.org for ratings. The above desciption comes from the producers so take it for what it's worth.
