What oil are you using?

Just curious what brand of oil everyone is using in there Kawasaki engines? My dealer is always pushing the Opti brand but it is high dollar. I hve always just used the basic Briggs 30.

Not the first time in my years I've seen folks use it like that, I find it strange and to a point mildly disturbing that folks would use such a thick straight weight oil in a high dollar engine, I run 30weight and 20w50 molasses as chainsaw lube.
Actually 20w50 makes for good hydraulic fluid as well.
And non-detergent 30 goes in my air compressor.

As for my machine's gasoline engines, they get 5w30 synthetic.

I use synthetic in most everything, but I would not THINK of using anything except synthetic in an air cooled engine. The synthetic can handle high temperature much better than dino oil.

According the Kohler manual, 10W30 works for my temperature range, so it gets 10W30 Mobil One. My Gator 825i with Liquid Cooled 3 cylinder, EFI engine also gets 10W30 Mobil One. My Bad Boy with liquid cooled Kawasaki 26HP got Delo 15W40 for a few years after I got it 8 years ago, and then started getting 10W30 Mobil One.

In recent years I have started moving toward synthetic for about everything on the place except for my John Deere 5055D which still gets Delo since it is formulated specifically for the needs of a diesel engine.

I use the Kawasaki 30w in my Kawasaki and the Kohler 30w in my kohler efi. That cures all warranty issues if something happens.

The Mobil 1 High Mileage synthetic oils have a more favorable mineral profile than their regular line.

I use Mobil 1's 15w-50 in my Kaws which is certainly thinner than the recommended straight 30w.

Opti for 2 cycles. Either 30w or 10w30 in the four cycles. Usually buy it on sale.
