Bugs

Out mowing yesterday, had some kind of insect nail me 4 times on my back. Couldn't find him to get my revenge! This happens all to often

I don't mind bugs, what I hate is the spiderwebs.

It's not so much the web, if I knew there was no spider on it no biggie....

It's the not knowing what kind of spider, how big and where the heck in landed on your body. Was the spider on the part of the web that wrapped around and it's now on my back crawling up to my neck only to fall down my shirt? Is it on the back of my head but I just can't feel it because the web is taking my attention? Is there even a spider or the creepy crawly feeling you get?

And the birds...I have no freakin clue what type of bird it is, but this time a year, on a couple of my larger properties I have a pair of birds swoopin down at me...........flying around the yard and bombing at me the whole time I'm mowing the lawn...I know it's most likely protecting a nest or feeding area...but good God....on the back part of these yards when it's on a velke and halling balls...you always wonder.."is this bird going to pull up in time or am I going to get a beak in the noggin?"

Yeah bees are really active this time of year here. Esp the Jackets.

Also, Asian beetles. Soybeans start coming out, and they start swarming. Those suckers bite too.

Could be a horse fly that got you Sprinkler Buddy. They're big, noisy and really nail you when they bite. Usually in the back. They can do it multiple times unlike a bee. As to those dive bombing birds, they are probably purple martins going after the insects you're stirring up. They feed on the mosquitoes and other small flying bugs. Usually find them in larger open areas where they have room to swoop and dive. Not a menace, but rather fun to watch.
