Pro-Turn 152 Mulch Kit with X-Factor Deck

The mulch kit is creating cut quality problems. The parts creating the chambers adjacent to the center blade are leaving grass uncut because the "V" groove is just too deep. Grass is getting caught in that V, causing it to not get cut, even at a crawling speed. What can I do to modify this? Or has there been an update/redesign to the mulch kit yet?

I removed these two parts, leaving the single piece covering the chute and the problem ceased to exist, so it definitely is the design of the mulch kit hampering the blades to be able to reach the grass coming out of the V groove.

I'm tempted to cut out some of this groove connecting the chamber brackets but not sure how that will effect things.

Thanks.

I am having the same issue when mulching with my PT 460. I thought grass might be building up in the 1/4" gap between the mulch baffle and the rear baffle built into the deck. Today I even tried a few different types of blade, first the wavy blades that come with the kit, then I tried some gator g5's and had the same streak of un cut grass. This was at a crawling speed, I mean I don't think I could have made the machine move any slower. I do have to admit that this was in some pretty thick grass and when I double cut it everything looked great, but we should not have to do that. I am tempted to try double blades. Anyone else having this issue?

I'm sure others are having the same problem with the mulch kit. It would be nice to get some feedback from Gravely on this issue and perhaps an updated mulch kit with a plate eliminating the V groove sent out to replace the under-achieving one.
