Suggestions on Planting

This little project is for my own home. I have a small bare bank in the back it gets morning sun and filtered sun through out it the day and is about a 35 to 45 degree over a area of 10ft by 60ft. Wanting to cover it with any low maintance groundcover mixed with some crapes and whatever. The problem is the soil that's there it's like orange concrete, lots of sand and clay no rocks in the soil larger than your thumbnail. Access to this area with machinery larger than dingo doesn't exist and it would a big pita I just need some suggestions or differnt ideas. I don't have any pics right now. Thanks!

I'd put azaleas and pine straw in. Easy to maintain and soil amendments should be minimal. one gallon size plants six/seven feet apart. Low growing ground cover is high maintenance once it matures.

mostly native groundcovers: phlox, ferns, huechera, tiarella, anemone, sedum ternatum, etc...
something spreading, but controllable
