I think this is one of the tackiest forms of advertising.

Plus you chance of reaching a prospective client are very low.

You have know way of knowing who the car your putting it on belongs to .

It could be a high school kid. a person in an apartment or rental. Someone who's yard looks like a war zone. someone from out of town. etc...

I would never do this.

I do use door fliers but I knock on the door and hand it to them and introduce myself if they are home. If they aren't home then I attach it to the door knob /handle.

During the christmas season I whent to the mall

When I came out I had a small Printed Post It Note stuck to my door handle.

It was advertising a job for extra x-mas help.

Might work for lawn care.
I was working at the mall at the time and also found out the the 5 guys putting the post it notes on the door handles were hauled away in handcuffs.

Because the mall is post no soliciting and flyer distripution

So if you are looking to do your local super market.

My Jewel, Dominicks, Cub, and Walts
All said no because they have the cash register reciepts with advertisments on the back. They gave me a phone # to call to find out of to advertise on the receipts at the super market.
They said that is the only advertising they allow.

But here is an idea
The 4th of July
find out wear people sit to watch the fireworks.

Take some flyers and start handing them to people.
If people say no thanks dont give them one.

Otherwise they leave it on the ground and makes you look bad.

If I ever catch someone touching my car they get more than a mouthfull. I think that is the most disrepectfull thing a person can do in advertizing even worse than telemarketing. I've had people put flyers on my windsheild when I was at work and it rained afterward and the ink ran and the paper was all stuck to the windshield. Really P***ed my off. don't do it there are far more respectible ways to advertize.

The worst part of it is that you get negative publicity when people see your name all over the litter on the ground.
