Great idea! Lawn care biz questions are so location-specific - it's helpful to have a place to ask.

Any of you guys use bagged mulch? I plan to call around tomorrow and get some pricing but I'm curious, what you all pay per pallet and from where? i need 12 yards of red dye mulch and am wondering the difference in price between buying bulk vs bags. I feel like bags would be a lot cleaner and easier.

I only go with the bagged mulch if I'm dealing with tight spaces. Someone on lawnsite posted that they stack 8 bags on a dolly at a time and are able to move the mulch so efficiently this way that they are more profitable paying extra for bagged. I pay roughly 25% more when purchasing 1 yard of bagged mulch vs having a yard dumped in my trailer.

Above,
I like bagged mulch but it cost so much. 13.5 bags @ 2 c.u. ft is 1 yd of mulch. If you find that at $3.50 a bag, that is $47.25 before tax where 1 yd of bulk is about $23.50.
Bagged Mulch is cleaner and as quick to lay but it cost so dang much.
GreenCountry Soils will sell bagged to you in bulk but you half to buy a Semi load at around $4500. Sometimes the box stores sell it for 5 for $10.00, thats the deal you would be looking for.
