Scag Cheetah vs Turf Tiger

This topic has surfaced awhile ago, but before I spend 10+ grand, I just want some opinions from other owners. I just finished up my first full year in business on my own. I did it with a 90's Scag stand up. This machine will not make it through another full year. In spring, I will purchase a 52" cheetah or turf tiger, but am unsure of which to buy for the long haul. Any help will be appreciated.

I would go with the turf tiger. The 52" cheetah seems under powered. I also believe the turf tiger is better built.

That Turf Tiger is one hell of a machine. I have a liquid Kawi 52" TT and have over 2000 hrs without any major issues. Good Luck and let us know what you finally purchase.

The 52 Cheetah is offering Kohler EFI as an option. Saw it at my dealer a few days ago. I think it was a 27 hp but not sure, I didn't look at it close enough.

I think the 52" motor options are the same in both cheetah and turf tiger. I like the Kohler 27 EFI, about $400-$500 more than the 24 Kawasaki. However, I am concerned about the drive system on the cheetah. I read a few reviews of how this might not hold up for the life of the mower.

A 24 Kaw on a 52" deck is not underpowered guys.

I run a 21 Kaw on a 48" deck and it does not bog at all on anything under 5-6 inches. No complaints on power.

For a 52" deck the turf tiger is a too big of a machine.

In a 52" a tiger cat, v ride, or w/b is a better choice.

I have a cheetah 27 EFI 52" and a wildcat 52", I prefer these models in a 52" size. I also have turf tigers in 61". I agree with above poster that turf tiger 52" is to big of machine for deck, that is why never bought one in 52". As for power wise 52" EFI cheetah will have same or more power than 52" tiger. Tigers pumps also rob power from motor. I love how my 52" EFI cheetah handles and has more than enough power.
