who makes all the skids?

Does BC (doosan) make there own, how about case, deere, NH. Is cat a cat machine? Got talking today with the fella's and everyone had a different opnion. IT was like ford is made by gm and dodge makes ford and toyota makes dodge. IT was crazy but I really didn't know either.

Skid steers:
Deere makes Deere
Cat makes Cat
Bobcat makes Bobcat (they WOULD NOT allow anyone else to do it)
Takeuchi makes Takeuchi, Gehl, Mustang CTL's
Case makes Case
New Holland used Deere waaaay back when, but they make their own
JCB and Volvo have partnered up.
Older Doosan skid steers resemble the Raccoon brand

Excavators:
Hitachi makes Deere
Cat makes some Cat, but still Mitsubishi Heavy Industries
Samsung makes Volvo, all sizes
Doosan makes Doosan and some Bobcat
Takeuchi makes Takeuchi
Komatsu used to make Bobcat in the 1980's and early 90's, but they are now Komatsu
Sumitomo makes Link Belt which makes Case
Kobelco makes Case mini's under the 50 size
Hella made crap.....are they still around?
Hyundai made Hyundai and had an limited agreement with Madill

Scat track, dear baby jebus that was a horrible experience way back in 1997, demo'ing a Bobcat 753 versus a Scat track 1500, I asked the sales rep for Scat Track if he could do us a favour, look up the word "scat" in a dictionary.

Needless to say, we bought the Bobcat and never heard from the Crap trak jerk ever again.

Its not like Volvo put a lot of R&D into the machine after they bought the rights to the machine. Added pilots and put a Cummins in it and called it good for another ten years before they finally buried the old Scat Trac this year. JCB will be handling the skid steer duties for Volvo now.

As hard as this is to write down. Soon CASE and New Holland will be the same machine. They were always (since the formation of CNH) the same company. Built on two different assembly lines in Witchita. Now the will only have one line with a Y in it at the paint shop. Power Tan to the right, and Yellow and Black to the left.

That's probably got something to about the rumour about Cat using someone else's engine for 2012 skid steers.
