First snow

Well today is the first snow of the year but we still have leafs coming down. Hopefully it will melt in a few days so we can finish up fall cleanups. Here with the elevation changes I'll have yards with 6" on them and yards with nothing all within 10-15 miles. Makes it hard to coordinate when your plowing on the mountain and mowing on the bottom lol. Makes it a tough decision to throw the plow on and wait or hook up to the trailer and do a cleanup or 2. Anybody else live in the mountains and deal with this

First snow

Yep mountains of southern wv southwest va getting first snow today. We still have 2-3 days of mowing left. Spent all day yesterday putting plows and spreaders in trucks in 60 degree weather. Was 45 and misting rain at 6:00 this morning. Already dropped to 37 degrees and snow now. Supposed to get a little today temps dropping into the teens tonight. Hopefully will get to salt today and again tonight

Actually it is the last snow of the year as of today. We have until December 31 to have another last day of the year snow.

Hoping for a lot more last snow's of the year this year. And that we start the new year off right with a snow on January 1, 2014. And, more important that the snow on January 1 is the last snow of the year.

Not mountains, but lake effect snow can cause the same issues. This storm put 3 inches from the lake shore south for about 50 miles. Looks like we may lose Thursday to melting snow also.
