How often to seed and fert

How often do you seed and fert customers yards and when do you apply them I live in New England I know some regions may be diff than others

We put down fert 3 to 4 times a year and only seed when needed or when customer request it

For cool-season grasses,,, Spring app after 2nd mowing, Next app after Summer heat,, Winterizer applied just before the grass leaves stop growing and has time to use up the fertilizer before the ground freezes...
Doesn't matter if you seed and fertilize together as long as there are NO herbicides in your fert... :

I live in New England as well and they do my yard 6 times a year and seed in the fall after aerating. They do the grub control and lime as well once each per season.

we will start about the first of April than start again in june than the 3rd round the first of sept and round 4 oct around the 3rd week. grass seed mostly the end of august but can be done when needed

Just becuz you are being overcharged for unnecessary fertilizer applications doesn't mean that it is the right thing to do...
Just like imitating WV by starting in April, when the grass hasn't even greened up yet in northern locales... There is a botanical science that discusses what is correct for cool-season turf grasses and DOING the popular thing by the rip-off companies is not it...

It is best to run the lawncare business based on having REASONS for what you do, not becuz "...that's the way we do it"...
