Any Sod Layers out there?

Im looking for some assistance on prices for laying sod. Im assuming when you make bids or estimates, its by the square foot. Can someone provide a "going rate" per square foot or yard for laying sod, so I have a starting point? Ill have to find a supplier here an see what they charge per pallet, and im sure it will depend on the type of grass too. Lets just use Bermuda as an example. anyone willing to either post on here for me, or PM me some info on this?

thanks in advance.

I usually charge them $20 over cost or so, to cover delivery. Then $100 to lay a pallet. Then I charge separately from all that for ground preparation.. 3 of my guys can lay a whole pallet in 15-20minutes, as long as there's no trimming. We do that once it's all down. My prices might go up depending on the amount of sod, and location.

I double the materials cost plus estimated hours for prep. It is probably close to the way Kidmows (above) stated. just a different way of getting to the price.

thanks yall. I cant believe they were laying sod 3 days before our first winter storm though. I didn't realize it would be possible to lay sod at this time of the year and have it survive.
