New Mower

Hello there

I am ready for a real mower, I mow about 20-30 St. Augustine laws a week. most lawns have a 40" gates.
I narrow my search to

Gravely Pro Walk Hydro 36HR PS

Gravely Compact Pro 34

What are the pros and cons On each?
Thanks

I had a Pro Walk belt drive 36PS and I loved it, it was the first real commercial mower I bought and I wish all the time I had kept it when I sold my business, as I'm back in it now and it was awesome for doing small residential yards. My next mower is going to be the Pro Walk Hydro 36PS unless Gravely makes a 34 or 36 stander again.

Cons, from what I understand with the Compact Pro 34 is that the narrow tires cause it to rut, however, some people have managed to fit wider tires on these units and remedy this issue.

If it is an only mower I would consider getting the Compact Pro 34 and putting some slightly wider tires on it as that would make for a really sick mower for doing small resi yards. I think a Pro Turn 148, Compact Pro 34 with wider tires and a 21in Trim mower is about the ultimate residential mowing setup.

EDIT: The reason I would get a Compact Pro 34 if it was my only mower is because I once mowed 30 residential St Augustine yards a week and I was drained at the end of the day. A rider is more productive and much less fatiguing.

Gravely is coming out with a new 36" Pro-Stance after the first of the year. We'll keep you posted.
