How to bid Christmas Light Installation Jobs?

Is there an easy way to give a customer a quote on installation? Maybe a certain amount per foot, based on ground level or 1st story, second story, etc? Where should I buy lights? TIA

FWIW, I'm in the SE Houston area.

call Stacey and Carlos of Britelites of Houston. they are consulting clients of mine that can help you out with some selling training and they can sell you inventory as well. they are friends as well. you may find stuff cheaper, but they will help you sell more.

We bid by measuring the homes roof, ridgelines and peaks. It is a guestimate of some sorts but it gives a pretty good idea. I will round up because I find I'm usually a little low and I give myself some extra room. The trees (wrap and hung) are harder.
