Hi I am knew to this forum and had a couple questions. I currently live in Kansas and am looking to expand my mowing service and needed some advice. I currently only have roughly 30 mowing accounts and am looking to get a total of around 50-60. What is the best way to gain residential mowing clients? Also I am looking to purchase a 48 inch Wright Stander but im not looking to buy knew. Any ideas of where i could purchase one or know of anyone that sells used? Thanks for your time and help and any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Zach

Zach,
Welcome.
Craigslist is a good spot to pickup used equipment.
Try doing some advertising for the next 30 accounts. Local paper, the web, church bulletin.

TurfWizard

Hey Zach,

Hopefully you had a good Christmas. Now is definitely the time you should be considering your strategy for contacting potential new business. Consider that your new customers may not be thinking as far ahead as are you so follow up with them as you get nearer to season will be critical. Plant the seed now and cultivate the leads over the next few months. Local mail (i.e. postcard campaigns) can be pretty effective and economical but again, follow-up will be critical.

Once you begin to develop a realistic list of leads make sure you keep meticulous records, especially if you decide to deliver quotes or proposals. To help you with that please consider looking at TurfWizard. It is a system that will manage all of your information, very economically.

If I can do anything to help your process, please don't hesitate to contact us. All my information is below. Take a few minutes and give it a look. it can only help.

Thanks,

Mike
