Echo PE-225 or Shindaiwa 235 with Edgit pro

I have about 250 to spend on an edger, and both of my current trimmers tend to have too much power and fling rocks really far when edging with them, so I was looking at these two options. Any thoughts or opinions on either. They both seem to have pros and cons, I just wondered what y'all's experience has been with these machines. Thanks.

Are you trying to edge with a trimmer with an edgit on it or use an actual edger? A lot of guys love the edgit but they were not my cup of tea. They fling rocks easier and adding that weight to the end made me feel awkward and unbalanced. I like the look of an edger perfectly straight razor edges also. Plus you can't get an edgit into tight places when trimming. I picked up once a pair of discounted 225's trimmer and edger for back ups. They weren't even good for that. A 225 edger is grossly under powered. Sold the edger right away and still have the trimmer sitting around. Never gets used. My 2 cents is buy a quality powerful edger once and be done with it. I can edge just as fast with an edger if not faster than anyone using an edgit. Basically could run with it if I wanted to.

I currently run an fs90 and fs 100. Maybe what you are saying is at a fc90 edger then right?

I've had 4 of them. Thought they were good until all four of them slowly started having carb problems. Use the same 93 octane mix in all my handhelds. The echos were the only one with problems. Would highly encourage you to shell out the extra $100 for a fs90, I have the 130 with carb issues what so ever. If you don't have a local stihl dealer i'd still recommend it, that much better. The power difference is laughable

You know that Echos have fully adjustable carbs now? So you might need to get them adjusted for then to work right.
