Pesticide License CEUs at New England GROWS
Learning opportunities abound across a variety of disciplines

Success in the green industry requires up-to-date expertise across a range of topics in horticulture, design, disease and pest control, and worker safety. At New England GROWS, attendees learn from the top experts in a broad variety of fields and earn continuing education credit from organizations that include: the International Society of Arboriculture, the American Society of Landscape Architects, the Association of Professional Landscape Designers, the Northeast Organic Farming Association, as well as state and regional pesticide licensing boards.

This year, Rise and Shine seminars kick off the day at 8 a.m., so green industry professionals can pack more valuable learning time into each day at the conference. Attendees can grab a coffee and learn new techniques while earning CEU credits.
Some of the most popular topics at past GROWS conferences are those that offer pesticide license recertification credit. Pesticide CEUs are available for the six New England states as well as New Jersey and Pennsylvania. A variety of education seminars, all taught by leading practitioners and approved for pesticide recertification credit, will be taught at New England GROWS, including these:

*What's Wrong With This Tree? Prof. Richard W. Harper, University of Massachusetts, Amherst

*New Strategies for Turfgrass Weed Control, Dr. Matt Elmore, Texas A&M University

*Invasive Insects: Honing Your Diagnostic & Management Skills, Dr. Paula Shrewsbury, University of Maryland

*The Impact of Proper Turfgrass Selection on Pest Management, Victoria Wallace,
University of Connecticut

*How TickSmart are You?, Dr. Thomas Mather, University of Rhode Island

*Fertilization Strategies for Pest Tolerance of Landscape Turf, Dr. James Murphy, Rutgers University

*Keeping Bees Healthy, Dr. Kimberly Stoner, The Connecticut Agricultural Experiment Station

*Tree Pests and Pathogens: What's New...What's Next? Dr. Nick Brazee, University of Massachusetts, Amherst

*Non-Chemical Management of Invasive Plants, Dr. Lois Berg Stack, University of Maine
