Dropped Quickbooks, using Open Office FREE

I am using Open Office which is an open source from google just the same as Micrsoft has their Word, Excel, etc.

I downloaded a few templates and love the invoicing. I only have about 15-20 customers weekly so I don't mine spending a little more time making the invoices. Quick books wanted me to change to online and I felt like they nickel and dimed me. When running a business these $20+ monthly charges add up.

Just trying to save every dollar I can this year.

This is like a bad game of Telephone...

- Active development, by Sun/Oracle, was killed a couple of years ago. It's origin is based on Star Office, which Sun bought, used, and open-sourced, with a goal of unseating MS Office. Oracle bought Sun, eventually shuttering the project, and donating the work to Apache, who has continued on with it, with an actively-developed suite.

- If you want the legit OpenOffice, it would probably be in your best interest to visit Apache's legitimate OpenOffice.org

- Google has the free, powerful, and awesome, Google Docs. I'm a big fan of the Gmail/Docs/Drive integration. They also have Quickoffice, an app for working with MS Office docs.

You have installed something that resembles OpenOffice, but it likely has nothing to do with the old open source project, in terms of altruism. The major warning sign should be the domain name and the skank giving you the thumbs up on the home page. lol Have you noticed any toolbars being installed on your browsers (or asking to be)? That's your next warning sign. If I were you, I'd uninstall and run a couple of good virus and trojan scans.

I downloaded the correct one but I remembered the wrong one and by accident typed it out.

I had a computer crash after downloading that or another version like that. It did install some spyware and a nasty Trojan horse virus. Openoffice is great but make sure you download the right one as previously stated.
