Property Preservation Companys

Anybody ever done business with any of these companies? Is it worth while, is it a waste of time? Any tips for dealing with them? In info at all?

I am currently working with a company. I get a yard to do here and there. I highly recommend researching the company before signing the contract. My theory with this is that I may get work in areas I do not work in and hopefully I can get my name out there. Also you need to consider that the housing market is getting better so the amount of foreclosures will not be as high like it was 5-10 years ago.

These large property management companies are putting us out of work.

Companies such a Safe-Way Property management are taking advantage of us. They pay us a small fee for the work we do. They charge enormous fees. They hold our money for months. These companies sit back and make money off of our hard work. They send us out to mow stuff severely overgrown and could care less what we run over. They continuously find small companies up and coming to take advantage of. I will not allow a middle man to make money off of my hard work. In my eyes they are no different than a title loan place taking advantage of people in despair. Run run run!!!!!!

The company that contacted me claims to have no contract and to pay every Friday. Am I being misled on these 2 things?

Do some research. I started doing a few jobs here and there for a few of these companies. It's a crap shoot. Two of them turned out to be more of a PIA than they're worth. From one, I waited 10-12 weeks sometimes to get paid. Another wanted to pay a flat $35 per lawn, and expected a minimum of 25 photos AND leaves/grass removed and shrubs kept trimmed! But, I found others who pay in biweekly cycles, and are pretty good to deal with. Do you make as much money with them? Not if they are your ONLY business. But, they make a nice supplement, and it helps with getting your name out there in new/different neighborhoods. I got several snow contracts from my truck being seen in new areas....

Don't waste your time. I never heard of anyone having a good experience with a Property Preservation Co.
