Travertine Paver Base

Hello All,

A lot of companies in my area are now using a 4" solid poured concrete base with a 1" sand setting bed for travertine walkways/patios/driveways. We have well drained soils here (sandy soil) so the soil is not an issue. Is there any advantage to this that I'm missing over a standard crushed aggregate base following ICPI standards?
