is this 2 cycle oil safe to use

my eyes are burning from reading so many different threads on 2 cycle but none say specifically whether or not the oil I have is safe. Last summer I ran out of my normal 2 cycle and I bought 2 qts of Masterpro brand marine 2cycle TC-W3 or API TC (that's what it says) it also says that it is certified NMMA TC-W3. I've never used this stuff before and it kinda scares me. Is it okay to use?

If its not Jaso/fd I'd skip. Marine and small engine aren't the same thing.

I can see this thread turning into 10 pages of opinions...

If it were me, I would NOT use any non-name brand oil of any kind in any of my personal equipment, period! In this case, I would throw the "Masterpro" oil as far as I could before I would put it in my Mercury XR6. One would have to save A LOT of money on cheap off-brand to make up for the cost of a $5000 - $10,000 engine if it didn't "work"!

Further more, the "Masterpro" oil you stated is for outboard engines... I assume your question is can you use it in your 2 stroke lawn equipment?
If so, the answer is absolutely, NOT! Water cooled engines run at a completely different temperature than air cooled engines!
The difference between outboard or water cooled oil and air cooled oil is completely different from the base stock of the oil to the additives of a specific blend or brand that make up their oil.

Just my opinion...

What Jeff said..times two!!

Did you EVER read any two cycle hand held owners manual?? They ALL state NOT to use marine TCW3 oil...ALL of em!!
As fer threads not being specific, well I ain't buying it. Its been covered on this site alone plenty of times.
'Nuff said?

..now If you'll excuse me...I gotta get back to cooking my beef stew.

I ran Wal-Mart oil the first time when I started in 2000 through 2004 & have been using it for the past 3 years in this iteration. No dramas.
