Any Florida guys Looking for a partner??

Been playing with the idea of relocating to Florida, like every one else up north..
LOL...

Some Ideas:
Buy a Franchise
Buy a small Business
Build from scratch again..
Pack up all equipment trucks couple guys and head south hope for the best..

Or try to join forces with a growing business already?? Any Takers??

Background... 20 years experience..
Company is on track for 7 figures next two seasons..
I'm young 33 years old, hell of a salesmen
No problem bidding commercial properties.. Bid against Brickman, Davey, all the time..
Lots of equipment to bring..

Any Feed back or ideas

Doubt you'll find any takers that you would want. Come on down and start your own business, with your experience, you'll have it off the ground in no time.

Private schools are a dime a dozen here in FL, look online in the location your thinking about moving too, I'm sure you'll find a few in the area.

With your experience you might actually be able to make a USL franchise work. If you have the capital it could be a good option for you. Starting from scratch could take a couple years. You have a huge leg up on all the other startups that come and go every season. Most fail from lack of business smarts than available work. Many can't take the heat in summer and just quit. Quality labor will be a problem too.

Ive thought about the "quality labor" and how hard it will be to get good help.

I guess your saying its not as easy as it is up north? Just throw an ad on craigslist for $10hr and let the applications flow?

Yea, the applications will flow alright. Mostly the dregs that can't pass a whiz quiz, operate eqipment (though many will say they've had their own biz before) or lost their DL to DUI (can you swing by and pick me up?).

I thought about it...

Came to its not a good idea.. They offer business skills, bidding process, marketing skills which i feel i have..
I would be into it if it came with contracts...

The big difference here is in the pricing.....expect to bill out half as much for the same work as up north...prices are super low in florida, but it is year round...its tough to be profitable but it can be done....available workforce pretty much sucks....its very laid back here. suggest south florida...meaning anywhere south of sarasota on west coast and south of fort pierce on east coast...ft lauderdale, miami area is the best option as far as pricing and labor...its just more expensive to live there....good luck !!!
