Man survives going through wood chipper?

Does anyone have any further details on this WA story? Anyone who has ever used a chipper knows that he couldn't have actually gone "through" the chipper. No doubt it easily could have turned out worse, but for safety sake would be interested to know the whole story here.

Guy is lucky to be alive. The way he looked in the hospital bed, it was almost as if he was in there for the flu or something.

He went thru a de-barking machine. Not a chipper but still a very mean machine.
